LOCALOCAL:
Let me show you my Tel Aviv
Your food tour through the markets and neighbourhoods I love.
Kerem HaTeimanim was my first home in Tel Aviv. Levinsky Market became a favourite when I moved nearby and started exploring its shops and delis. Both are places I keep coming back to, for the food, the people and the stories. Come along, and I’ll share what makes each of them special to me.

Where shall we go?
Carmel Market &
Kerem HaTeimanim

We start in the alleys of "The Kerem", where food is part of the history, then head into Shuk HaCarmel, with its busy stalls, familiar faces and newer food spots. Along the way, we’ll explore how the neighbourhood and the market have changed together.

Levinsky Market

At Levinsky Market, a spice shop or deli can tell a story that began far from Tel Aviv. We’ll follow the people and food traditions that found a home here, tasting our way through the market and discovering how those stories continue in the neighbourhood today.

THE WOMAN BEHIND LOCALOCAL
Hi, I’m Tal
I’m an anthropologist who loves interesting food, history, culture and meeting new people. I started LocaLocal in 2019 to share my favourite places and the stories behind the food and the neighbourhoods.
For me, A Bourekas is much more than a tasty bite. They’re a great conversation starter: where did they come from, and who brought them here? How have they changed along the way? And what can they tell us about the people and places around us?
Between bites, we'll talk about migration, family traditions and life in Tel Aviv and a lot more.
I bring my knowledge of the city, the stories and my appetite. There’s plenty of room for your questions, laughter and the conversations that happen along the way.
